Licensed Practical Nurse

An LPN has to work under the supervision of an RN. An LPN program almost takes one year to complete. Licensed practical nurses examine patients, observe crucial symptoms, and assist in wound care. LPNs work in home health care, hospitals, clinics and nursing homes.

Registered Nurse

A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. An RN's scope of practice is determined by legislation, and is regulated by a professional body or council.
